#2 Sight         What you see and how you see

 

Examples of rebelling against God with our vision:

• Not asking (consulting) the Holy Spirit for discernment 
• Looking for and seeing the worse 
• Looking for the “blinding best” (unspiritual)   
• Walking by sight and not by faith
• Leaning on our own senses to understand situations
• and life’s purpose
• Accepting the illusions of the adversary as reality.
• Relying on our understanding.
• Rejecting a vision God gave because to our human mind 
• “it doesn’t make sense.”   

 #3. Listening                       What you hear and how you hear.

 

Examples of rebelling against God with our hearing

• Listening to other’s gossip, lies, and blasphemy  
• Looking to hear gossip, lies, and blasphemy
• Limit listening to others, understanding their needs and concerns

#4. Speech   What you say and how you say it.

Examples of rebelling against God with our mouth

• Gossiping
• Temperament/Using words to hurt others
• Blasphemy/ Using the Lord’s name in vain
• Not testifying how the Lord has blessed you and brought you through a storm
• Not taking clear opportunities of witnessing to nonbelievers

 #5. Emotions  What you feel and how you feel.

 

Examples of rebelling against God with our emotions

• Living your life by reacting to others treatment  towards you
• Carrying grudges
• Living in the past and staying the victim 
• Allowing fear to dictate what we do, how we
• live and how much we love others

#6 Desires  (passions) 

 

Examples of rebelling against God with our desires

• Sexual-- Affairs; imaginary (online/  thoughts/ porn) or physical
• Focused on seeking wealth and symbols of wealth/ materialism
•  Addictions (drug, alcohol, food and shopping)  

#7. Work & Deeds What you create and how you create (perform)

 

Examples of rebelling against God with your work and deeds

• Selfish living, not helpful towards others
• Creating problems and strife (directed at others or self)
